The selection of the packaging in chemical industry depends on the characteristics of the product which has to be packed. Anyway, to determine the best pack it has to be considered not only the inertia in respect of the product, but also the resistance to stress during transportation and stacking in warehouse. In respect of other industries, the changes due to marketing demands are less frequent.

This industry favors the use of large containers: this depends above all by the major logistic and economic advantages deriving therefrom, even if there are plenty of limited capacity's containers, widespread for example in the paints' industry and in consumer products.

  • Paints and varnishes: the most widespread packing is the steel container, with a share of 50%, followed by plastic tank trucks and containers;
  • Inks: mainly engaging the tinplate containers;
  • Lubricants: continuing the gradual decline of tinplate containers for the benefit of the plastic;
  • Grease: the packaging covers only the steel container.
